"Your Dachshund" and Toy Breeds under 10 pounds are
cordially invited to participate in our
"October Fest" 1st Annual Dachshund Races.
Location: Pampered Pets Boarding, Play-yard.
Date: October 18th, 2008 at Events start at noon, races start
at 3 pm.
Prizes:
Dachund Winner ................$250 cash plus trophy.
2nd ..................6 mos flea control and trophy
3rd place ....................trophy
Toy Breed under 10 pounds
Winner......................................$100.00 cash plus trophy.

While racing is certainly the most fun for the dogs, we have
many other events and booths to go over pet wellness and
ways to turn your pet into a happy, healthy, mobile dog.

parvo if under 1 year old), fill out a release form and an
entrance form. If you have dog or people aggressive pets,
please do not enter them in the contest. It's best to have two
people at the event, one to release and one for the dog to
run to at the finish line, in order to give your dog the best
chance to win.

Dachshund Race Results
This October 18th, 2008, Benning Animal
Hospital and Fort Benning Animal Clinic did
something really special. We had our very
first Dachshund race.
"Your Dachshund" and Toy Breeds under 10
pounds were cordially invited to participate
in our "October Fest" 1st Annual Dachshund
Races. We had over 150 people attend, and
over 70 dogs! We gave out free hot dogs
from Cook's Hotdogs, drinks, chips, candy
and other foods courtesy of Webster
Veterinary Supplies. We gave out chapstick,
handsanitizers, Puppy Manuals, and other
goodies, while enjoying a beautiful sunny
day!
There were fantastic demonstrations of dog
obedience by Jerry Barnes, laser therapy
demonstrations, Novartis animal rehab
movies, Purina Dog Food and weight loss
demos, Arthritis and your pet sessions, and
many other educational events. During
National Pet Wellness Month, we had lots of
people learn how to improve their pets lives,
and theirs as well. Novartis provided large
trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, while
Webster donated 6 months of flea control
for 2nd place winners. Thank you all for
participating and contributing! The Cook's
Hotdogs were delicious, and the shade from
the tents from Vance Memorial Chapel was
welcome on our sunny day. Finally thanks to
Silver Run Baptist Church for loaning us the
chairs and tables for the events.
