Easter Bunny Hop and Easter Bone Contest.
Saturday, April 4, 2009 noon - 5 pm.
We would like to thank all of our clients and friends who
came out and participated in our First Annual Easter
Bone Hunt. It was a rousing success, generating
hundreds of dollars in donations to the Columbus Paws
Humane Society, great pet education, and a good time
for our friends and family.
Our big winners were the boxers (Brando, Jurgen), labs
(Tex, Robert), and Shepherds (Riley) who all got free
treats and placed in our competition (see placings
below)...
Event Schedule:
12- 4 pm - Bone Hunts
2 pm, 4 pm - Easter Bunny visited and handed out
goodies to all the little kids!
2:30 Officer Eric of the Columbus Sheriff's department
gave two demonstrations of the narcotic's K-9 officer's
detection abilities.
3 pm - Anita Rabidou of the Columbus Kennel Club gave
a presentation on CKC activities and how to get more
involved in activities with your Dog. Be sure to check
their site for more information on their temperment
testing event!
3:30 pm - Mary Lou of PAWs gave a presentation of the
activities and ways to participate with PAWS humane
society. Bolt and Braveheart were present for adoption.
(And still need good owners)
4 pm - Finals and Awards.

All third place winners received $25 cash prize.

Five Dog treats were hidden in a sectioned off area of
our play yard and contestants had 1 minute to get and
eat as many as they can. Demonstrations from Dr.Keri
Riddick with her dogs "Annie" (Medium, Austrailian
Shepherd) and "Marley" (Small, Jack Russell) gave
some of the best times of the day. Annie gained all five
treats in 29.4 seconds, and Marley in 23.1 seconds.

BOOTHs-
BAH Veterinary Technicians:
Provided free mini-physical exams and a drawing for
pet health supplies.
BAH Kennel and Pampered Pets:
Provided kid zone, water toys, how to board video,
kennel selection discussions.
BAH Reception:
Pet Activities and club exhibits, dog jumps, dog duck
pond to play in!
Columbus Kennel Club:
A large booth and several well bred dogs, with
information on upcoming temperment tests and shows.
PAWS:
A booth with two adorable adoptable puppies- Bolt and
Braveheart.
Columbus Sheriff's Department:
Booth with K-9 Officer Eric, baseball cards and
brochures.
Webster/Fort Dogde Food Booth:
Hotdogs, chips, sodas, all free, with voluntary donation
to PAWS.
